An introduction...

Hello there cyberspace. I am a worker in a travel medical clinic in a Major Canadian City. Mainly I help around the clinic, assist new patients before and after they see the doctor, and do a lot of photocopying. Also, the Travel Clinic I work at (which shall remain pseudonymous) is kind of sketchy, in the sense that we are badly managed, financially and otherwise. This blog will help me to demonstrate to the larger community what travel medicine is all about in this province, and let me voice my frustrations about The Boss and The Doctor (two separate individuals). It also gives me a way to sort of spend my time efficiently. Or something.

Oh, and as an added twist, I'm also one of two employees in a small biotechnology start-up company run by The Doctor. We do 3D brain imaging of the cerebral cortex, using an EEG based technology. We also want to apply these imaging techniques to understanding processes such as pain and migraine. The company is, again, badly run, as The Doctor has proven himself pretty incompetent scientifically and at times entrepreneurially. In a nutshell, he's kind of an idiot, hence my semi-anonymity. Along with the travel medical stuff, I'll also talk about being part of a start-up company, the science and tech behind our company, and just some general ranting.

Consider this a quirky blog for a quirky situation. I do, as it keeps me from going crazy.
